9pm eastern:
it’s been an eventful trip so far. i fly from orlando to detroit to tokyo to taipei today. 25 hours of travel and i arrive 37 hours later thanks to time zones. slept through the first flight, and i'm on the plane to tokyo right now with six hours left.
first flight i sat next to a six year old kid named noah. we traded knock knock jokes and talked about pokemon. he followed me off the plane instead of going with his parents. if i didn’t know he was with me does it count as kidnapping?
I’m writing this on the tokyo flight because I can’t stand another round of plants vs. zombies. at least there are free drinks to keep everyone docile? now i'm sitting on a plane next to a guy who designs retina readers and bioscanners for the TSA who has awesome stories and the global procurement director for libbey glass. long story short, i may or may not be flying back to america in a couple weeks on the libbey dime for a job interview running procurement for some plants in toledo and another city?
not exactly the job offer i had been expecting in the next few days but still it’s nice to be wanted.
…
so we left the plane, and i was supposed to go with Libbey lady to the fancy delta frequent fliers’ club for drinks and talk, but there wasn’t time thanks to japanese security. i literally had to sprint just to make the flight, i was the last person on the plane. nothing exciting this flight so far. sitting next to some nice people but no one’s made a single knock knock joke or job offer. think I’m gonna take a nap,it’s been a weird day, I’ve had like 23 straight hours of sunlight.
…
sitting in a taiwanese taxi, it’s really freakin nice. every taxi is like a prius and all the cars on the road are new looking models with a fresh coat of wax. most things here look pretty good. people have been really helpful, offering to help me make phone calls and buy general purpose metro/phone/general cards at the airport. lotta scooters too. like scooter gangs.
so i made it, prices seem reasonable so far, city just keeps getting prettier and now there are trees wrapped in twinkle lights. more scooter gangs drivin’ around.
I feel like on any other flight you go on, someone should really raise the bar.
ReplyDeleteLike a job offer inside of a knock knock joke.
I'm glad your travels are going well so far! Break a leg!!!
